The Opportunity: Leading HR in Engineering & Construction

We are searching for an accomplished HR Manager who can seamlessly integrate HR strategy with business objectives. You will be at the forefront of building and nurturing the workforce that powers significant engineering and construction projects. Your expertise will be crucial in every facet of human resources, from talent acquisition to employee development and retention, ensuring a robust and compliant HR framework.

Your Impact & Key Responsibilities:

  • Strategic HR Leadership: Develop, implement, and continuously refine HR policies, procedures, and strategies that align with the company's vision and operational goals, ensuring they support both employee welfare and business objectives.
  • Talent Management Excellence: Spearhead end-to-end recruitment processes, from workforce planning and sourcing top-tier talent in the engineering/construction sector, to crafting engaging onboarding experiences that integrate new hires seamlessly into the company culture. Oversee robust talent management and retention programs.
  • Employee Relations & Performance: Proactively manage all aspects of employee relations, including conflict resolution, disciplinary matters, and grievance handling. Champion a performance-driven culture through effective performance management systems, coaching, and feedback mechanisms.
  • Compliance & Risk Management: Ensure meticulous adherence to all Nigerian labour laws, regulations, and internal company policies. Mitigate HR-related risks and maintain an ethical and legally compliant work environment.
  • Compensation, Benefits & Engagement: Oversee the design and administration of competitive compensation and benefits programs. Develop and implement initiatives to enhance employee engagement, satisfaction, and overall well-being.
  • Strategic Reporting & Advisory: Prepare insightful HR reports and analytics to inform management decisions. Act as a strategic advisor to leadership on all human capital matters, contributing to strategic planning and organizational development.

Who We're Looking For: Qualifications & Expertise

We seek a visionary HR leader with a proven track record of success in demanding environments:

  • Educational Background: A Bachelor's Degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a closely related field.
  • Extensive HR Experience: 8–10 years of progressive HR experience, with at least 3 years explicitly in a managerial capacity. Crucially, prior experience within the engineering, construction, or infrastructure sector is strongly preferred.
  • Legal & Best Practice Acumen: Strong, demonstrable knowledge of Nigerian labour laws, industrial relations, and contemporary HR best practices.
  • Leadership & Communication Prowess: Exceptional leadership capabilities, coupled with superior communication, interpersonal, and stakeholder management skills essential for influencing and collaborating across all levels of the organization.
  • Professional Certification (Added Advantage): Possessing a professional HR certification such as CIPM, SHRM, HRCI, or an equivalent designation, will be a significant advantage.
  • Tech Proficiency: Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and experience with Human Resources Information Systems (HRIS) is required.
