The Opportunity: Treasury Manager
We are seeking a highly skilled and strategic Treasury Manager to join our team. This pivotal role is central to managing the organization’s financial resources, ensuring optimal liquidity, effective cash flow management, and minimizing financial risk. The successful candidate will be instrumental in overseeing banking relationships, developing funding strategies, and ensuring rigorous compliance with financial policies, all in support of our ambitious business operations and growth objectives.
Key Responsibilities
The Treasury Manager will be entrusted with a comprehensive range of responsibilities, including but not limited to:
- Cash Flow & Liquidity Management: Proactively monitor daily cash positions to ensure ample liquidity for operational demands, prepare and manage both short-term and long-term cash flow forecasts, and strategically optimize cash utilization across the organization.
- Banking & Relationship Management: Cultivate and manage strong relationships with banks and other financial institutions, skillfully negotiate banking facilities, loan terms, and service agreements, and oversee all banking transactions for accuracy and efficiency.
- Payments & Collections Oversight: Supervise all payment processes, including those for vendors, salaries, and statutory obligations. Ensure timely collections and accurate cash application, while maintaining robust internal controls over all disbursements.
- Financial Risk Management: Identify, assess, and manage critical financial risks, including liquidity, interest rate, and foreign exchange exposures. Develop and implement proactive risk mitigation strategies and ensure strict compliance with internal policies and regulatory requirements.
- Funding & Investment: Develop and execute effective funding strategies to support working capital and capital projects. Evaluate potential investment opportunities for surplus funds and meticulously monitor loan repayments and overall debt obligations.
- Treasury Operations & Controls: Establish, enforce, and continuously refine treasury policies, procedures, and internal controls. Ensure thorough documentation and maintain comprehensive audit trails for all treasury activities, providing full support for internal and external audit processes.
- Reporting & Analysis: Prepare insightful treasury reports detailing cash position, forecasts, and risk exposure. Provide critical insights to management to facilitate strategic decision-making and actively support financial planning and budgeting processes.
- Team Leadership: Lead, mentor, and develop treasury staff, fostering a culture of high performance, continuous improvement, and professional growth within the team.
Requirements
To excel in this role, candidates should possess the following qualifications and experience:
- A Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a closely related field.
- Possession of a recognized professional certification (e.g., ICAN, ACCA) is a mandatory requirement.
- A minimum of 7–10 years of progressive experience in treasury or broader finance roles.
- Experience gained within a manufacturing or pharmaceutical environment will be considered a distinct advantage.
