Role Overview & Primary Purpose
The primary purpose of the BDM role is to originate bankable transactions and projects, develop strategic relationships with key clients and stakeholders, and significantly expand the company's deal pipeline. By spearheading business acquisition and successful transaction execution, you will directly support Sage Grey Finance Limited's ongoing revenue growth.
Key Responsibilities
- Deal Origination & Business Development: Identify and source viable transactions across key sectors including infrastructure, energy, manufacturing, oil & gas, telecoms, technology, real estate, agribusiness, and financial services. Lead initiatives for capital raising, project finance, debt syndication, and M&A mandates.
- Client Relationship Management: Build and nurture long-term relationships with corporate clients, project sponsors, and investors. Lead high-level negotiations and serve as the primary contact for assigned opportunities.
- Market Intelligence & Strategy: Monitor macroeconomic trends, sector developments, and regulatory shifts to advise management on strategic positioning and business expansion.
- Partnerships & Network Development: Form strategic alliances with commercial banks, Development Finance Institutions (DFIs), private equity firms, and legal partners while proudly representing the company at major industry forums.
- Reporting & Performance Management: Track KPIs, maintain robust pipeline records, and deliver comprehensive periodic reports to management.
Qualifications and Experience
- A minimum of a Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Business Administration, Accounting, Banking & Finance, or related disciplines.
- 5 to 8 years of relevant professional experience in business development, investment banking, corporate finance, financial advisory, or project finance.
- A powerful, established network within corporate, banking, investment, and business communities.
- Demonstrated success in transaction origination and client relationship management.
- Exceptional communication, negotiation, presentation skills, and high commercial acumen.
