The Opportunity: Tax Supervisor

As a Tax Supervisor, you will play a crucial role in overseeing the tax reporting, tax planning, and compliance functions. You will be instrumental in supporting the regional tax management team, ensuring adherence to tax regulations, and contributing to strategic tax initiatives. This position offers a unique platform to leverage your expertise in a complex international tax landscape.

Key Responsibilities Include:

Performing comprehensive tax compliance reviews, covering various tax types such as Corporate Income Tax (CIT), Withholding Tax (WHT), Value Added Tax (VAT), and Personal Income Tax (PIT).
Actively participating in and managing external audits and internal tax reporting processes.
Working on critical cash repatriation and tax credit projects, optimizing the company's financial position.
Providing essential assistance and support to Tax Managers on various tax-related projects and initiatives.
Preparing, reviewing, and filing corporate tax returns and indirect tax returns accurately and on time.
Reviewing statutory fiscal accounts to ensure compliance with filing deadlines.
Preparing, reviewing, consolidating, and submitting internal management reports to key stakeholders.
Identifying and delivering continuous process improvements, with a strong focus on supporting and implementing automation solutions within the tax function.
Achieving operational effectiveness, setting clear targets for controls, and identifying areas for control improvements.
Delivering on specific tax effectiveness and efficiency targets set by the organization.
Mentoring and guiding new members of the tax team, contributing to their professional growth and development.
Providing critical support on tax audits as required, ensuring smooth and efficient processes.
Supporting various restructuring initiatives from a tax perspective.

What We're Looking For:

To succeed in this role, you will bring a robust blend of academic achievement and practical experience:

Education: A minimum of a bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or a closely related field.
Experience: 4–6 years of progressive experience in tax practice, ideally gained within a reputable professional services or audit environment.
Professional Qualifications: A professional qualification or membership of a national/international Chartered Accounting or Taxation Institute is a significant advantage.
Technical Acumen: A solid understanding of tax regulations, tax audits, and compliance processes is essential.
Systems Proficiency: Proficiency in ERP systems such as SAP is required.
Sector Experience: Prior experience in the Energy sector and/or within a Big4 audit firm will be an added advantage.
