We are seeking a meticulous and highly skilled Tax Manager to oversee all aspects of tax compliance and strategy for our Nigerian operations. This role is crucial for ensuring our adherence to statutory requirements, optimizing tax positions, and providing essential financial insights. Key Responsibilities: Driving Tax Compliance and Strategy

As our Tax Manager, you will be at the forefront of our tax operations, managing a comprehensive range of responsibilities:

Withholding Tax (WHT) Management: Efficiently prepare monthly WHT returns for all PZ entities/SBUs across Nigeria. This includes spooling monthly reports, verifying applicable rates, segregating into jurisdictions, reconciling against ledger balances, and processing payments within strict 7-day deadlines. You will also be responsible for reviewing WHT reports and verifying WHT credit notes on B2B customer purchases.
Value Added Tax (VAT) Oversight: Spool monthly VAT reports and ledgers for all entities, prepare monthly VAT reports for PZ SBUs, and ensure timely filing of VAT Returns with the FIRS on or before the 21st of every month.
Tax Payments & Liabilities: Process payments for all monthly taxes, final demand notice liabilities, and any other undisputed tax liabilities, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
Tax Authority Correspondence: Prepare initial draft responses to demand notices, queries, and other correspondence from the Federal Inland Revenue Service (FIRS) and state boards. You will also be responsible for receiving and recording all correspondence and maintaining a tracker to ensure timely responses.
Tax Clearance Certificates: Proactively apply for and obtain Tax Clearance Certificates for all seven (7) entities annually.
International Tax Support: Provide first-level review of tax computations for PZ Kenya and PZ Ghana, offering crucial support on other international tax issues such as audits and refund claims.
Strategic Tax Planning: Prepare trend analysis, detailed decks, and forecasts to support strategic tax planning and budgeting initiatives.

Qualifications & Experience: What We're Looking For

To succeed in this challenging yet rewarding role, you should possess the following:

Academic & Professional Qualifications:

A Bachelor's Degree (B.Sc.) in Accounting.
Professional certification from ICAN, ACCA, or CITN is essential.
Proficiency in computer expertise, particularly MS Word and MS Excel.

Technical & Professional Experience:

A minimum of 4-5 years of relevant experience, preferably within an FMCG (Fast-Moving Consumer Goods) or multinational environment.
Comprehensive knowledge of Nigerian tax laws and regulations, including Companies Income Tax (CIT), Value Added Tax (VAT), Withholding Tax (WHT), PAYE, Transfer Pricing, and other statutory compliance requirements.
A strong understanding of accounting principles, financial reporting standards, and tax accounting processes.
Demonstrated proficiency in the use of SAP accounting software for tax reporting, reconciliations, ledger reviews, financial analysis, and compliance monitoring.
