This role is pivotal in maintaining the financial and operational integrity of the company’s supply chain and distribution network.
Role Overview
As a Stock Control Officer, you will serve as a guardian of the company’s assets. Your primary objective is to evaluate operational activities, ensuring that internal controls are robust, effective, and fully compliant with corporate policies. You will play a critical role in mitigating risks and ensuring transparency across the organization's fuel storage and distribution operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Inventory Management: Oversee daily product tank dips and monitor truck loading processes to ensure accurate stock levels.
- Reporting and Analysis: Provide the Risk Officer with accurate daily loading and ROB (Remaining on Board) reports, while investigating any irregularities.
- Audit and Compliance: Conduct thorough retail station audits, coordinate year-end inventory counts, and perform periodic fixed asset verifications.
- Financial Reconciliation: Reconcile dispatch and security registers daily to ensure consistency across all operational data.
- Strategic Improvement: Develop audit strategies to prevent fraud and recommend process enhancements to senior management.
Qualifications and Skills
- Education: B.Sc. or HND (minimum Second Class Upper or Upper Credit) in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, Mathematics, Engineering, Statistics, or Economics.
- Analytical Rigor: An investigative mindset with a proven ability to identify errors and potential fraud.
- Precision: A meticulous approach to documentation and record-keeping.
- Technical Proficiency: Strong IT and communication skills, essential for reporting audit findings clearly to stakeholders.
