The Role: SME Officer

As an SME Officer at Good Neighbours MFB, you will play a crucial role in identifying new business opportunities, driving revenue, and managing a high-quality loan portfolio. You will work closely with business owners to understand their financial needs, provide strategic solutions, and ensure excellent relationship management.

Key Responsibilities

In this role, you will be expected to:

  • Identify and Pursue New Business Opportunities: Actively prospect for and acquire new SME clients to expand the bank’s market share.
  • Develop Strategic and Marketing Plans: Formulate and execute target-driven marketing strategies to achieve the bank’s revenue and profitability goals.
  • Manage the Sales Pipeline: Build and maintain a robust pipeline of deals to consistently meet or exceed monthly and quarterly targets.
  • Provide Exceptional Customer Service: Deliver prompt, accurate, and professional responses to customer inquiries regarding GN MFB products and existing accounts.
  • Manage and Monitor Loan Portfolios: Oversee existing loan portfolios closely, ensuring timely repayments and proactively mitigating credit risks.
  • Keep Management Informed: Maintain clear communication channels by submitting regular activity reports, including daily call logs and weekly/monthly work plans.
  • Collaborate: Perform any other professional tasks assigned by the Team Lead to support the team's overall objectives.

Key Requirements and Qualifications

To be successful in this position, you should possess:

  • Educational Background: A Higher National Diploma (HND) or Bachelor’s Degree (B.Sc.) in Marketing or any other relevant field of study.
  • Professional Experience: A minimum of three (3) years of proven work experience in Sales or SME banking within a reputable financial institution.
  • Proven Track Record: Demonstrated success in sourcing, evaluating, and closing business loans while maintaining a high-quality, low-risk portfolio.
  • Skills: Strong analytical, interpersonal, and communication skills to effectively build relationships with diverse stakeholders.
  • Work Ethic: The ability to work independently with minimal supervision, collaborate effectively within a team, and thrive in a fast-paced, target-driven environment.
