Role Overview

As the Restaurant Accountant (Accounts Officer), you will play a vital role in maintaining the financial integrity of the business. You will be responsible for processing financial transactions, reconciling accounts, and preparing accurate reports that drive business decisions. This is an excellent opportunity for an accountant with strong organizational skills who thrives in a fast-paced, high-performance environment.

Key Responsibilities

Your day-to-day duties will include, but are not limited to, the following:

Ledger Management: Processing financial data through sales and purchase ledgers from the point of invoice receipt to transaction completion.
Bank & Ledger Reconciliation: Reconciling bank statements with payment vouchers, purchase ledgers, and sales ledgers.
Software Operations: Processing financial transactions efficiently using Sage, NAV, and other accounting applications.
Costing & Analysis: Determining the costs of performances, functions, and activities to facilitate analysis and enable valid comparisons with established criteria over different time periods.
Stock Control & Budgeting: Performing monthly stock valuations, stocktaking, stock reconciliations, and strict budget monitoring.
Reporting: Preparing monthly financial statements and managing inter-branch accounts reconciliation.

Required Qualifications & Experience

To be considered for this role, applicants must meet the following criteria:

Education: Minimum of a Higher National Diploma (HND) in Accountancy.
Experience: At least one (1) year of cognate experience in a similar accounting role.
Technical Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (data analytics skills) and commendable use of Standard Office Applications and operating systems.
Software Proficiency: Practical experience using Accounting Applications such as NAV, SAGE/Peachtree, QuickBooks, or Daceasy.
Attributes: High level of attention to detail, analytical mindset, and the ability to work with minimal supervision in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.
Location: Must be willing and able to work in Lagos.
