As a Research Analyst, you will be at the forefront of conducting in-depth research across a spectrum of financial instruments and market dynamics. - Conduct comprehensive fundamental and quantitative research on publicly listed companies, industries, and sectors, providing a solid foundation for investment theses.
- Perform meticulous analysis of financial statements, company earnings, valuations, and operating performance to assess investment attractiveness.
- Continuously monitor local and global capital market trends, macroeconomic developments, and regulatory changes, understanding their potential impact on investment decisions.
- Prepare detailed, high-quality equity research reports, investment notes, market commentaries, and sector outlook reports that inform both internal teams and clients.
- Develop and maintain sophisticated financial models essential for company valuation and in-depth investment analysis.
- Execute comparative analysis utilizing a range of valuation methodologies, including DCF, Comparable Companies, EV/EBITDA, P/E, and Price-to-Book ratios.
- Analyze various fixed income instruments, including Treasury Bills, FGN Bonds, Corporate Bonds, Eurobonds, and Money Market instruments.
- Provide critical support to portfolio managers by delivering well-researched investment recommendations.
- Track key economic indicators such as inflation, exchange rates, GDP, interest rates, and monetary policy decisions, understanding their implications for market movements.
- Compile and present weekly, monthly, and quarterly market performance reports, offering clear summaries of market dynamics.
- Present research findings to internal stakeholders and clients, articulating complex information clearly and concisely.
- Maintain comprehensive databases of market information, financial data, and research materials to ensure data integrity and accessibility.
- Stay abreast of all developments within the Nigerian capital market, global financial markets, and emerging investment opportunities.
- Assist in the development of tailored investment strategies that align with client objectives and evolving market conditions.
Who We Are Looking For
To succeed in this role, you will bring a robust academic background and proven experience:
- Education: A Bachelor's Degree in Finance, Economics, Accounting, Business Administration, Statistics, Mathematics, or a closely related discipline.
- Experience: 3-5 years of progressive experience in investment research, equity research, capital markets, investment banking, asset management, or broader financial services.
- Specialized Expertise: Demonstrated experience in conducting both equity and fixed income research is highly preferred.
- Market Knowledge: A strong understanding of the Nigerian capital market and global financial markets is essential.
- Reporting & Modeling: Proven experience in preparing investment research reports and developing sophisticated financial models.
- Analytical Prowess: Solid knowledge of macroeconomic analysis and diverse investment valuation techniques.
- Regulatory Awareness: Familiarity with SEC regulations and capital market operations will be considered a significant advantage.
