About the Role
As a Reconciliation Specialist, you will play a crucial role in safeguarding the accuracy and integrity of our financial records. This position requires a proactive professional who can meticulously reconcile transactions, investigate and resolve discrepancies, and collaborate across departments to maintain robust financial controls.
Key Responsibilities
- Account Reconciliation: Perform daily, weekly, and monthly reconciliations across various accounts to ensure data integrity.
- Discrepancy Resolution: Actively investigate, trace, and resolve variances or discrepancies in financial transactions.
- Payment Channel Auditing: Reconcile bank statements, POS transactions, and other digital payment channels promptly.
- Transaction Posting: Ensure timely, accurate posting and matching of financial records.
- Reporting & Escalation: Prepare comprehensive reconciliation reports and escalate unresolved anomalies to senior management.
- Cross-Department Collaboration: Work closely with the Finance, Operations, and Billing departments to resolve transaction variances.
- Compliance & Controls: Maintain impeccable financial documentation and ensure strict compliance with internal controls, corporate policies, and regulatory guidelines.
- Financial Closing Support: Provide essential support during month-end and year-end financial closing activities.
- Process Optimization: Identify bottlenecks and propose improvements to optimize internal reconciliation workflows.
Job Requirements
To succeed in this role, candidates must possess the following qualifications and skills:
- Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or a related discipline.
- Experience: 2–4 years of hands-on experience in reconciliation, accounting, or financial operations.
- Technical Skills: Proficient in Microsoft Excel (advanced formulas) and modern accounting/ERP systems.
- Knowledge: Strong fundamental understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting procedures.
- Professional Certification: An active professional certification (ICAN, ACCA, ACA, or equivalent) is highly advantageous.
- Soft Skills: Outstanding analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills, with an unwavering attention to detail.
