The Role: What You Will Do

As a Project Accountant, you will play a critical role in setting up, migrating, and optimizing accounting systems for our clients. You will be integrated within a project team, working directly with clients to restructure their accounting departments, ensuring that the software matches their financial workflows perfectly.

Specific Duties and Responsibilities

Operational Reconciliations: Reconcile various companies' accounts within an implementation project lifecycle.
Ledger Setup: Review and implement ledgers covering assets, liabilities, income, expenses, and equity to provide accurate, relevant management reports.
Debtor & Creditor Management: Monitor, review, and clean up aged debtors and creditors ledgers.
System Integration: Extract, clean, and map traditional accounting data into ERP software.

Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)

Your success in this role will be measured by your capability to deliver high-quality financial implementations. Major KPIs include:

Quality, adequacy, and precision of system documentation.
Accuracy of final reconciliation documentation.
Timeliness and accuracy of generated management reports.
Advanced skills in spreadsheets and financial modeling.
Capability to manage multiple project tasks concurrently under tight deadlines.

Requirements and Qualifications

To be successful, candidates should possess the following credentials and skills:

An HND or Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline.
2 to 4 years of active work experience (with at least 2-3 years playing a key role in the daily operations of an accounts department).
ICAN Certification is mandatory.
An in-depth understanding of basic accounting principles, double-entry bookkeeping, and IFRS standards.
Proven ability to analyze Trial Balances, Balance Sheets, Profit & Loss statements, General Ledgers, Aged Debtors reports, and verify complete charts of accounts.
A collaborative spirit, with the capability to lead and work effectively within a team of accountants.
