Shaping the Future of Healthcare Supply Chains in Nigeria
Are you an experienced procurement professional looking to make a tangible, life-saving impact? Lafiya Nigeria, a dynamic global health non-profit organisation, is seeking a dedicated and detail-driven Procurement Manager to join our growing team. Lafiya offers an innovative solution to strengthen Nigeria's social infrastructure by empowering women through access to contraception. By collaborating with Nigerian female health professionals who act as last-mile delivery agents, we bring critical family planning resources and awareness to far-to-reach communities that would otherwise go unserved.
As Lafiya transitions from a fast-paced startup to a national-scale organisation, we are committed to building procurement practices that withstand rigorous scrutiny from donors, regulators, and government partners. This mid-level role is perfect for someone with 4–6 years of experience who thrives on designing robust systems, executing them with integrity, and refining processes autonomously.
What You’ll Do
Your day-to-day responsibilities will blend routine operational execution with strategic supply chain management:
- Procurement Operations: Serve as the organisational procurement lead by reviewing and processing Purchase Request Forms (PRFs), sourcing quotes, coordinating evaluation panels for competitive tenders, and ensuring full compliance across UK, Nigeria, and Netherlands entities.
- Vendor Management: Conduct thorough vendor due diligence (business registration, TIN verification, sanctions screening), maintain and expand our preferred vendor register, and manage critical vendor relationships across pharmaceuticals, logistics, warehousing, and IT equipment.
- Compliance & Documentation: Maintain electronic procurement documentation systems, track emergency and sole-source procurements, and ensure all activities align with evolving donor requirements and internal policies.
- Training & Reporting: Onboard staff, run periodic refreshers on procurement guidelines, and conduct monthly and quarterly analyses on cycle times, vendor delivery performance, spend variance, and market cost trends to continuously improve operational efficiency.
Who You Are
We are looking for an autonomous, highly organized professional who balances procedural rigor with the realities of a fast-moving non-profit environment. You possess:
- 4–6 years of relevant procurement or operations experience, ideally within an NGO, donor-funded, or international development context.
- A Bachelor’s degree in business administration, supply chain/procurement, finance, or an equivalent combination of professional experience.
- A solid working knowledge of procurement principles—such as value for money, transparency, and conflict-of-interest management.
- Exceptional proficiency in spreadsheet software (Excel/Google Sheets) and experience working across multiple currencies (NGN, GBP, USD).
- Clear communication skills with the ability to train non-specialists and collaborate seamlessly with finance and program teams.
- Professional fluency in English (French and Hausa are considered a strong plus).
