About the Role
As the Internal Auditor, you will play a critical role in evaluating and improving the effectiveness of risk management, internal controls, and governance processes across Sagar Vitaceuticals' manufacturing and operational facilities in both Lagos and Ogun states. This role demands a comprehensive approach to auditing—spanning operational, financial, compliance, and technology-driven processes. You will ensure the business aligns with international standards like IFRS, as well as local regulatory requirements including CBN, NDIC, and AML/CFT, thereby fostering an environment of strong governance and continuous operational improvement.
Key Responsibilities
- Risk-Based Auditing: Develop and execute comprehensive, risk-based audit plans covering financial, operational, manufacturing, and compliance processes.
- Internal Controls & Governance: Evaluate internal control systems and risk management frameworks to recommend practical, impactful improvements to mitigate risks.
- Technology & System Audits: Audit banking payments, financial systems, customer onboarding processes, and other technology-enabled business functions.
- Regulatory Compliance: Ensure full adherence to CBN, NDIC, AML/CFT regulations, IFRS standards, and internal corporate policies.
- Reporting & Tracking: Prepare detailed audit reports, communicate key findings to management, track remediation plans, and verify that corrective actions are effectively implemented.
- Advisory Support: Provide proactive advisory support to leadership on emerging risks, evolving compliance landscapes, and internal control best practices.
- Stakeholder Collaboration: Collaborate with external auditors, risk management teams, compliance officers, and the Board Audit Committee to maintain a robust overall control environment.
Requirements and Qualifications
To succeed in this role, candidates must possess a strong analytical mind, great attention to detail, and a commitment to upholding the highest professional and ethical standards. The ideal candidate must have:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or a closely related field.
- Professional Certifications: Required certifications such as ACA, ACCA, CIA, or CISA. A CIBN certification is considered an added advantage.
- Experience: 3 to 5 years of hands-on internal or external audit experience within manufacturing companies, pharmaceutical firms, financial services, or other highly regulated industries.
- Technical Knowledge: Deep understanding of internal audit methodologies, enterprise risk management frameworks, financial reporting guidelines (IFRS), and relevant regulatory frameworks (such as CBN, NDIC, and AML/CFT).
- Digital & Analytical Skills: Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office, data analytics tools, and specialized audit software, alongside excellent investigative and report-writing skills.
