Role Description

This is a full-time, on-site role based in Port Harcourt. The successful candidate will be responsible for planning and executing internal audit engagements, reviewing financial and operational records, and assessing compliance with company policies, procedures, contracts, and regulatory requirements. This role requires close collaboration with finance, project, and operations teams to identify potential control weaknesses, fraud risks, and areas for process optimization.

Key Responsibilities

Operational & Project Audits: Conduct regular audits of project sites, payroll systems, procurement protocols, and warehouse operations to ensure strict alignment with company guidelines.
Financial Oversight: Review site expenditures, labor funds, and contractor payments thoroughly to guarantee funds are utilized according to approved budgets.
Risk Mitigation: Monitor and enforce company regulations, particularly regarding logistics and expenditures, to minimize financial and operational risk.
Collaboration & Reporting: Partner with Management to identify inefficiencies in resource allocation, preparing actionable reports that drive process improvements.

Qualifications & Requirements

Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field. Professional certifications such as ACA, ACCA, or CIA are highly advantageous.
Demographic Requirements: Candidates must be a married female residing in Port Harcourt, Rivers State.
Skills & Experience: Solid understanding of financial principles, internal control assessments, and risk-based audit approaches, ideally within the construction or engineering sectors.
Analytical Ability: Strong analytical capabilities for interpreting financial data, project costs, and operational metrics to identify trends or discrepancies.
Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present clear audit findings and collaborate with diverse stakeholders.
Tech Savviness: Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools and basic familiarity with audit or ERP software.
