About the Role

Mulligan Hotel, a distinguished private Nigerian Group of Companies with interests in retail, hospitality, and property, is currently seeking a meticulous and experienced Hotel Internal Audit Officer to join our professional team in Lagos. This role is pivotal in maintaining the high operational standards of our hospitality business, ensuring financial integrity, and optimizing internal control systems.

Key Responsibilities

• Verify figures, postings, and documentation across all hotel departments for accuracy and regulatory compliance.
• Collaborate with the Audit & Compliance (A&C) Manager to audit departments, ensuring stringent control over finance and inventory.
• Foster a culture of compliance to achieve zero-tolerance for policy or regulatory infractions.
• Examine recurring and non-recurring expenditures to enhance financial control systems.
• Harmonize Food & Beverage pricing in liaison with the Accounts Department and consultants.
• Ensure the reliability of sales reports and records while identifying process bottlenecks.
• Prepare comprehensive audit reports and present findings to the A&C Manager and Hotel Management.
• Monitor and analyze stock, purchase items, and physical inventories to prevent income leakage.
• Proactively identify operational loopholes and recommend robust risk aversion and cost control measures.

Requirements

• B.Sc. Degree in Accounting or Finance.
• 2 - 3 years of proven experience as an Internal Audit Officer specifically within the hospitality sector.
• Advanced proficiency in MS Office, accounting software, and database management.
• Strong grasp of auditing standards, procedures, and relevant regulatory frameworks.
• Excellent analytical skills, high attention to detail, and sound independent judgment.
• Strong communication skills and a professional demeanor.
• Must be a resident of Lagos.
