The Role
This leadership position is designed for an individual who can bridge the gap between high-level corporate banking and the bank's deep-rooted commitment to sustainable development. You will be responsible for setting the strategic direction, mobilizing deposits, managing corporate loan portfolios, and fostering high-performance cultures within your team.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement corporate banking strategies that align with LAPO’s financial inclusion agenda.
- Spearhead the acquisition and retention of high-value corporate, institutional, and SME clients.
- Manage risk effectively, ensuring Portfolio at Risk (PAR) thresholds are maintained while growing the loan book.
- Drive innovation in financial products tailored to corporate needs and SME development.
- Collaborate across departments—including Treasury, Digital Banking, and Operations—to ensure seamless service delivery.
- Mentor, coach, and lead a high-performing team of Relationship Managers to exceed performance targets.
Requirements
- Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Banking & Finance, Economics, Business Administration, Accounting, or Marketing. An MBA or relevant Master’s degree is highly preferred.
- Professionalism: Possession of certifications such as ACIB, ACA, ACCA, CFA, or CIBN.
- Experience: 10–15 years of progressive banking experience, with at least 5 years in a senior management or leadership role focused on Corporate or Business Banking.
- Skills: A proven track record in deposit mobilization, corporate lending, and strategic relationship management.
