The Opportunity: General Manager, Finance

The General Manager, Finance will play a pivotal role in shaping the financial landscape of Akanu Ibiam International Airport. This leadership position demands a commercially astute professional capable of providing strategic direction for the Airport's entire finance function. You will be instrumental in ensuring robust financial governance, meticulous planning, accurate reporting, efficient treasury management, comprehensive budgeting, proactive revenue optimisation, and unwavering regulatory compliance. Reporting directly to Executive Management, the GM Finance will serve as a trusted business partner, offering critical financial insights that drive informed decision-making, foster operational excellence, and ensure sustainable long-term growth for this vital aviation asset.

What You'll Do

Develop and meticulously implement the Airport's financial strategy, ensuring complete alignment with overarching corporate objectives.
Lead comprehensive financial planning, rigorous budgeting, precise forecasting, and expert treasury and cash flow management.
Oversee all aspects of financial reporting, ensure strict statutory compliance, and maintain robust internal financial controls.
Drive impactful revenue assurance initiatives, cost optimisation strategies, and projects aimed at enhancing overall financial sustainability.
Provide astute strategic financial advice to Executive Management concerning critical investments, significant capital projects, and emerging commercial opportunities.
Ensure scrupulous compliance with all applicable financial regulations, International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS), and corporate governance standards.
Build, mentor, and lead a high-performing finance team, fostering an environment of continuous improvement and disciplined financial practices.

What We're Looking For

We are searching for a visionary leader with a solid foundation in finance and a proven track record of success:

A Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, Business Administration, or a closely related discipline is essential.
A Master's Degree (MBA, MSc Finance, or an equivalent qualification) is highly desirable and will be a significant advantage.
Must be a professionally qualified Accountant with active membership of a recognised professional body such as ICAN, ACCA, or CPA.
A minimum of 15 years of progressive finance experience is required, with at least 7 years spent in a senior leadership capacity.
Demonstrated, extensive experience in financial strategy formulation, budgeting, treasury management, financial reporting, business performance analysis, and enterprise financial governance.
Profound knowledge of IFRS, Nigerian tax laws, financial regulations, and corporate governance principles.
Exceptional leadership, strong analytical capabilities, acute commercial acumen, and superior stakeholder management skills.
Prior experience in aviation, airports, transportation, infrastructure, hospitality, or other highly regulated industries will be considered a distinct advantage.
