Role Overview
This is an exceptional opportunity for a hands-on, senior finance professional to oversee critical financial operations within a fast-paced, international financial services environment. The successful candidate will spearhead financial reporting, regulatory compliance, strategic financial analysis, and daily accounting operations, providing actionable insights that directly influence executive decision-making and foster business growth.
Key Responsibilities
As the Financial Controller, your core duties will include:
- Financial Reporting & Management: Prepare, analyze, and present comprehensive monthly management accounts, including balance sheets, profit and loss (P&L) statements, and cash flow forecasts.
- Accounting Oversight: Supervise all general ledger activities, month-end closing procedures, and ensure highly precise reconciliation processes.
- Reconciliation & Treasury: Oversee prompt resolution of bank and payment gateway account discrepancies while managing daily cash flow and treasury functions.
- Compliance & Tax Management: Ensure strict adherence to statutory requirements, including timely VAT, withholding tax (WHT) filings, and regular regulatory compliance submissions.
- Audit Coordination: Lead the preparation of financial records, liaise with external auditors, and ensure smooth annual auditing processes.
- Strategic Analysis: Design complex financial models, projections, and reports to assist the management team in long-term strategic planning.
- Internal Controls: Establish and enforce robust financial control systems to mitigate financial risks and optimize operational efficiency.
Requirements & Qualifications
The ideal candidate must possess the following qualifications and professional attributes:
- Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or any related financial discipline.
- Professional Certification: Active certification with ICAN (ACA) or ACCA is highly mandatory.
- Professional Experience: 6 to 8 years of progressive finance and accounting experience, with a core focus on Cross-Border Payments, Fintech, or international banking environments.
- Technical Proficiency: High-level proficiency in Microsoft Excel, financial modeling, and experience utilizing leading accounting ERP packages (such as Sage, QuickBooks, SAP, etc.).
- Regulatory Knowledge: Deep understanding of International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) and international tax regulations.
