About the Role
As the Financial Controller, you will serve as a pillar of the company's financial operations. The ideal candidate must possess an advanced understanding of financial modeling alongside the rare ability to translate complex financial jargon into clear, actionable insights for non-finance stakeholders. In this role, you will hold ultimate responsibility for overseeing and directing all financial activities, reporting systems, and corporate strategies that drive Trinity Financial Services forward.
Key Responsibilities
- Financial Planning & Analysis: Lead the annual budgeting cycle and develop rolling monthly and quarterly forecasts to ensure long-term alignment with corporate objectives and market trends.
- Financial Reporting: Prepare precise, timely financial statements and present high-level, data-driven insights directly to the executive leadership team.
- Strategic Growth & Decision Support: Analyze competitor trends and market data to identify opportunities for revenue expansion, business optimization, and strategic cost-saving.
- Risk Management & Internal Controls: Maintain robust internal control frameworks, enhance internal reporting processes, and ensure full compliance with both local and federal regulatory bodies.
- Cash Flow & Capital Management: Carefully monitor corporate liquidity, managing strategic investment processes to optimize company capital.
- Team Leadership: Oversee and mentor the accounting, accounts payable, and accounts receivable teams to foster a culture of professional excellence and continuous growth.
Required Qualifications and Experience
To succeed in this role, candidates must demonstrate a strong, proven background in the financial services sector. Specifically, the following qualifications are required:
- Experience: 6+ years of active experience working in a bank or financial institution as a Financial Controller or Finance Manager. (Note: Candidates must currently be employed within a financial or banking institution).
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance with a minimum of a Second Class Upper (2:1). A Master’s degree in Accounting or Finance is considered a strong advantage.
- Professional Certifications: Relevant professional qualification such as ICAN, ACCA, or CFA is required.
- Technical Skills: Practical knowledge and hands-on experience with BankOne Accounting Software is mandatory.
- Business Acumen: Advanced commercial acumen with a proven track record of using data-driven insights to solve complex business challenges.
- Modeling & Presentation: Excellent financial modeling capabilities, professional reporting standards, and exceptional financial presentation techniques.
