Key Responsibilities
- Operational Financial Management & Accounting: Oversee daily accounting operations, revenue assurance, general ledger maintenance, accounts payable (AP), and accounts receivable (AR). Ensure billing accuracy across client retainers and lead monthly, quarterly, and annual closes in compliance with IFRS and Nigerian GAAP.
- Cash Flow & Working Capital Optimization: Drive assertive accounts receivable management, build robust 13-week rolling cash flow forecasts, and manage vendor relationships to optimize treasury operations.
- Campaign & Client Profitability Analysis: Partner with Account Managers to evaluate real-time campaign- and client-level profit margins, conducting variance analysis comparing budgeted vs. actual project costs.
- Tax, Legal & Statutory Compliance: Ensure full compliance with Nigerian tax regulations (FIRS and LIRS), including the computation and remittance of WHT, VAT, CIT, and PAYE, while tracking WHT credit notes.
- Financial Controls, Risk & Governance: Maintain rigorous internal controls, perform routine reconciliations, and safeguard financial assets with complete digital audit trails.
Required Qualifications & Skills
- Education & Certification: B.Sc / HND in Accounting, Finance, or Economics. ICAN, ACA, or ACCA certification is strictly required.
- Experience: 6–10 years of post-qualification accounting/finance experience, featuring 3+ years in a Finance Manager or Lead Operational Accountant role. Backgrounds in digital agencies, media, tech, or professional services are strongly preferred.
- Software Proficiency: Advanced proficiency in cloud accounting platforms (QuickBooks Online, Sage, Zoho Books, or NetSuite) and advanced Excel.
- Tax Expertise: Deep, practical mastery of Nigerian tax law, including FIRS TaxPro-Max and LIRS filings.
- Soft Skills: Unmatched resilience in fast-moving environments and exceptional communication skills to present financial metrics clearly to non-finance stakeholders.
