As a Finance Manager, you will play a crucial role in our operations, acting as both a factory cost controller and a fixed assets accountant. This position offers a dynamic blend of cost and asset accounting, control procedures, budget management, audit support, and finance leadership within our organization.
Key Responsibilities and Duties:
Cost Control
- Meticulously track daily operational costs across slaughtering, processing, packaging, and distribution to accurately determine the production cost per unit of output and order.
- Proactively identify and investigate any discrepancies between standard and actual costs, focusing on materials, labor, and utilities.
- Collaborate closely with the Engineering Team for the monthly review of energy and maintenance expenses.
- Partner with the Warehouse Team on inventory reconciliation, stock write-offs, and other essential reporting tasks.
- Prepare comprehensive monthly cost reports, including gross margin analysis, SKU profitability, and landed cost calculations.
- Assist in the preparation of monthly forecasts and the annual budget for the business unit, ensuring alignment with production targets and sales forecasts.
- Recommend strategic improvements for efficiency in energy usage, labor allocation, and supply chain management.
Fixed Asset Accounting
- Efficiently manage the sub-fixed asset register for the slaughterhouse.
- Collaborate with the Production and Engineering Teams to assess CAPEX requirements, process, and secure approvals for capital expenditures.
- Oversee the entire process of asset capitalization, depreciation, and write-off/disposal/retirement, ensuring strict adherence to all necessary control procedures and approvals.
- Coordinate external and internal auditors or valuers during asset verification and/or valuation exercises.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
- Demonstrate a strong understanding of manufacturing overheads, Bill of Materials (BOM), and product costing methodologies.
- Possess the ability to interpret complex financial data and translate it into actionable business insights.
- Familiarity with Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems, specifically SAP and/or Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central, is highly desirable.
- Proficiency in Advanced Microsoft Excel is essential.
- Education: A Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or a closely related field is required. Professional certifications such as ACA, ACCA, or CIMA are considered a significant advantage.
- Experience: A minimum of 5 years of proven experience in a similar role, preferably within an FMCG (Fast-Moving Consumer Goods) company, is expected.
