The Role: Finance Control Executive
As a Finance Control Executive, you will play a critical role in supporting the daily financial control activities of the organization. This position is ideal for an accounting professional who thrives in structured environments and possesses a keen eye for numbers. You will work closely with senior financial leaders to ensure absolute accuracy in sales reconciliations, bank controls, receivables tracking, and regulatory compliance.
Key Responsibilities and Duties
The successful candidate will be tasked with a wide range of analytical and administrative responsibilities, including:
1. Daily Sales Reconciliation
- Assist in reconciling daily cash and credit sales transactions to maintain revenue integrity.
- Support the real-time posting of sales transactions into the company's financial system.
- Review, monitor, and follow up on the daily account balances of Business Development Executives (BDEs).
2. Bank and Cash Reconciliation
- Supervise and support check lodgments and verify bank deposits regularly.
- Assist in checking and verifying the accuracy and completeness of incoming payments.
- Participate in the rigorous monthly reconciliation of depot floats and corporate bank accounts.
3. Receivables & Credit Control
- Ensure accuracy in customer ledgers and the accounts receivable module.
- Support the team in monitoring customer credit limits, outstanding balances, and aging schedules.
- Prepare and process appropriate General Ledger (GL) journal postings.
4. Credit Customer Support & Debt Recovery
- Compile data and historical statements for the monthly credit customer evaluation reviews.
- Proactively follow up on overdue invoices and pending customer payments to optimize cash flow.
5. Reporting & Compliance
- Assist in preparing daily sales reconciliation reports for management decision-making.
- Support the generation of weekly outstanding reports and open invoices for BDEs.
- Maintain proper audit-ready files and supporting documents for all financial transactions, ensuring strict compliance with internal control policies.
Qualifications, Experience, and Skills
To succeed in this role, you must meet the following criteria:
- Education: Minimum of an HND or Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a closely related discipline.
- Experience: 2 to 5 years of experience in an accounting, finance, or audit role.
- Technical Skills: Basic understanding of fundamental accounting principles, ledger postings, and bank reconciliation processes.
- Software: Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and experience working with modern accounting software (ERP systems).
- Soft Skills: Strong organizational capacity, exceptional attention to detail, a high sense of integrity, and the ability to work collaboratively under supervision.

- Previous experience in the Fast-Moving Consumer Goods (FMCG) or distribution sector.
- Professional certifications such as ICAN or ACCA (either in view or a demonstrated interest to pursue).
