Our esteemed client, located in Zaria, Kaduna State, is actively seeking a meticulous and analytical Finance & Accounts Officer. Key Responsibilities:
- Accurate Record Keeping: Maintain accurate and up-to-date accounting records in strict accordance with company policies and established accounting standards.
- Financial Reporting: Prepare comprehensive monthly, quarterly, and annual management accounts and financial reports, providing critical insights for management review and strategic planning.
- Transaction Management: Efficiently process and meticulously reconcile accounts payable, accounts receivable, and all general ledger transactions.
- Cash Flow & Receivables: Proactively monitor cash flow, ensuring the timely collection of receivables and the prompt payment of all approved financial obligations.
- Bank Reconciliation: Prepare precise bank reconciliations and diligently investigate and resolve any identified discrepancies.
- Budgeting & Forecasting Support: Assist actively in the preparation, meticulous implementation, and ongoing monitoring of annual budgets and robust financial forecasts.
- Financial Analysis: Support crucial financial planning activities by providing insightful analysis of revenue streams, operational expenses, and overall operational costs.
- Statutory Compliance: Guarantee unwavering compliance with all statutory obligations, which includes timely tax filings, meticulous pension contributions, VAT, PAYE, and all other pertinent regulatory requirements.
- Liaison & Coordination: Serve as a key liaison with external auditors, professional tax consultants, financial institutions, and relevant regulatory authorities during financial audits and essential statutory reviews.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Educational Background: A Bachelor's Degree or Higher National Diploma (HND) in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or a closely related discipline is essential.
- Professional Experience: Possess a minimum of 3–5 years of progressive experience in accounting or finance roles, with a preference for experience gained within the agribusiness, manufacturing, commodity trading, or Fast-Moving Consumer Goods (FMCG) sectors.
- Core Knowledge: Demonstrate strong knowledge of financial reporting principles, robust budgeting practices, taxation laws, and comprehensive statutory compliance regulations.
- Software Proficiency: Be proficient in leading accounting software solutions such as Sage, QuickBooks, SAP, Microsoft Dynamics, or other similar Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems.
- Technical Skills: Exhibit advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other integral Microsoft Office applications, leveraging these tools for data analysis and reporting.
