Role Overview
As a Credit Officer / Field Worker, you will serve as the primary link between GTPI and our clients. Your core focus will be to work directly in the communities and markets within your assigned region. You will identify and recruit clients, appraise their business potential, facilitate loan disbursements, and ensure timely loan repayment to maintain a healthy portfolio.
Key Responsibilities
- Client Mobilization: Actively seek out and register new clients for both individual and group micro-loans in the thriving markets of Iwo Road and Egbeda.
- Loan Appraisal & Disbursement: Visit clients' business premises, conduct thorough assessments of their financial needs, verify eligibility, and manage all necessary documentation.
- Loan Recovery & Portfolio Management: Monitor outstanding loans and ensure timely repayments from clients, working diligently to manage and reduce the portfolio-at-risk.
- Customer Relations: Educate clients on our microfinance products, flexible repayment plans, and fundamental principles of financial discipline.
- Field Reporting: Provide daily updates and comprehensive reports regarding client visits, collections, and prospective leads to the Branch Manager.
- Business Growth: Set and achieve performance-driven monthly targets for client retention, disbursement volumes, and loan recovery.
Qualifications and Requirements
We welcome energetic, result-oriented individuals who are eager to build a career in microfinance. The requirements are as follows:
- Education: Minimum of SSCE, OND, or B.Sc in any discipline.
- Experience: A minimum of 6 months of experience in sales, marketing, microfinance, or banking. Fresh graduates with a strong drive to learn are highly welcome to apply!
- Communication Skills: Excellent interpersonal, marketing, and communication skills to effectively build trust with local traders and community leaders.
- Fieldwork Comfortability: Must be comfortable with outdoor field operations, community engagement, and door-to-door marketing.
- Basic Numeracy: Strong basic arithmetic skills and attention to detail for accurate record-keeping.
- Residency: Candidates must reside in or close to Iwo Road or Egbeda, Ibadan.
- Technology: Possession of an Android smartphone is required for daily field operations and communication.
- Local Knowledge: A solid understanding of the Ibadan market layout, culture, and business environment is highly desirable.
