The Opportunity: Credit Control Manager
We are seeking a highly analytical and results-driven Credit Control Manager to join our finance team. In this pivotal role, you will be responsible for safeguarding our company's financial health by managing credit risk, overseeing accounts receivable, and leading a dedicated team of professionals to ensure efficient debt collection.
Key Responsibilities
- Define and enforce robust credit control policies to minimize financial risk.
- Evaluate the creditworthiness of clients and establish appropriate credit limits.
- Lead and mentor the credit control team to exceed collection targets.
- Analyze aging reports and implement proactive strategies for reducing overdue receivables.
- Negotiate payment plans and manage the lifecycle of delinquent accounts.
- Provide detailed financial reporting to management regarding cash flow and AR status.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with Sales and Customer Service to resolve billing disputes.
Professional Requirements
- Education: A Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or Business Administration is required. Professional certifications (ICAN, ACCA, ACA) are highly advantageous.
- Experience: A minimum of 7 years of professional experience in credit control, accounts receivable, or finance. Backgrounds in retail, FMCG, or distribution environments are preferred.
- Skills: Exceptional negotiation skills, high proficiency in financial reporting software, and strong leadership capabilities are essential for success in this role.
