The Role: Compliance and Documentation Officer

As the Compliance and Documentation Officer, you will play a critical role in safeguarding the organization’s assets and reputation. This position functions independently to identify, measure, and mitigate regulatory and legal risks. You will be the primary liaison between Stockgap and major regulatory bodies, ensuring that all internal frameworks, documentation, and tendering processes are strictly adhered to for seamless business continuity.

Key Responsibilities

Your responsibilities will span several critical business functions, including:

• Policy & Regulatory Compliance: Assist in drafting, updating, and implementing comprehensive operational policies. You will conduct routine assessments of the company's compliance culture and liaise directly with external regulators such as NNPC, PPMC, DPR, and NCD to resolve issues.
• Operational Monitoring & Audit: Conduct regular statutory inspections and internal audits. You will assess the adequacy of business controls, pinpoint vulnerabilities, and ensure company assets (local and international) are robustly insured.
• Document Control & Asset Management: Oversee the acquisition, secure filing, and renewal of critical company assets, regulatory certificates, and licenses. You will make sure all compliance communications are clear, structured, and accessible to the team.
• Tender Documentation & Submission: Track, prepare, and submit competitive bids via the NipeX portal. You will work closely with government agencies at federal, state, and local levels to secure timely statutory approvals and permits.
• Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE): Actively champion occupational health and safety standards within the office and advocate for safety compliance company-wide.

Job Requirements

To be successful in this role, you should possess the following qualifications and experience:

• Education: Minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree or HND (Second Class Upper/Upper Credit) in Accounting, Finance, Management, or a related discipline.
• Experience: At least four (4) years of active experience in internal control, compliance, or auditing within the oil and gas or a related heavy industry.
• Professional Certification: A recognized professional certification such as Certification in Risk Management Assurance (CRMA) or its equivalent is highly desirable.
