We are currently seeking a visionary Chief Executive Officer to provide strategic leadership and drive the transformation of our exchange operations in West Africa. This is a pivotal role for a seasoned leader who is passionate about capital market development, technological innovation, and sustainable financial growth.
Key Responsibilities
- Strategic Leadership: Develop and execute long-term strategic plans in alignment with Board directives and national capital market objectives.
- Digital Transformation: Lead the modernization of exchange infrastructure and trading platforms to meet international standards.
- Regulatory Stewardship: Serve as the primary liaison with regulators (including the SEC), ensuring full compliance with ISA 2007 and AML/CTF/KYC requirements.
- Market Development: Stimulate liquidity through strategic partnerships with fintechs, DFIs, and market intermediaries.
- Operational Excellence: Oversee revenue targets, capital structure, and enterprise risk management to ensure long-term profitability and resilience.
- Leadership & Culture: Build and inspire a high-performing team, fostering an environment of integrity and ethical excellence.
Requirements
To succeed in this executive capacity, candidates must possess:
- Experience: A minimum of 15 years of progressive leadership in capital markets, financial services, or exchange operations, with at least 7 years in C-suite or senior executive roles with P&L responsibility.
- Expertise: Demonstrated experience engaging with high-level financial regulators and a track record of digital transformation within technology-driven business environments.
- Education: A first degree in Finance, Economics, Law, or related fields, complemented by a postgraduate qualification (MBA, M.Sc.).
- Professional Credentials: Professional memberships such as CIS (Fellowship), CFA Charter, or ACCA/ACA/ICAN are highly preferred.
