About the Role
As the Bank & Trade Finance Executive, you will be at the heart of the company's financial operations. Your primary responsibility will be managing banking operations and trade finance documentation to ensure seamless import and export transactions. By staying compliant with Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) regulations and Nigerian trade requirements, you will play a crucial role in safeguarding the company's financial integrity and operational efficiency.
You will coordinate vital banking relationships and handle essential trade documents such as Form M, PAAR, NXP, Letters of Credit (LCs), and customs paperwork. Moreover, this role embraces modern workplace innovations, empowering you to leverage cutting-edge AI tools and SAP systems to optimize documentation, tracking, and reporting processes.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage day-to-day banking relationships, trade finance transactions, and comprehensive banking documentation.
- Process and diligently monitor Form M, PAAR, NXP, Letters of Credit (LCs), bank guarantees, and other import/export documents.
- Coordinate seamlessly with banks, customs brokers, shipping agents, and regulatory bodies to guarantee timely shipment clearance.
- Ensure strict compliance with CBN foreign exchange regulations, Nigeria Customs Service requirements, and all applicable trade policies.
- Maintain accurate digital records of all banking and trade documentation to ensure readiness for internal and external audits.
- Prepare comprehensive regular reports on trade finance activities, shipment statuses, and banking transactions directly for the CFO.
- Utilize SAP and advanced AI tools to automate documentation, tracking, reconciliation, and reporting processes.
- Proactively identify and implement opportunities to improve trade finance and banking workflows.
Candidate Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, Commerce, or a closely related field.
- 3 to 6 years of proven experience in trade finance, banking operations, or import/export documentation.
- Hands-on, practical experience managing Form M, PAAR, NXP, Letters of Credit, and broader Nigerian trade finance processes.
- Sound, working knowledge of CBN foreign exchange regulations, Nigeria Customs procedures, and international Incoterms.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite and SAP ERP systems.
- Demonstrated experience using AI tools for document management and workflow process automation.
- Strong analytical, organizational, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
- A high level of professional integrity, accountability, and acute attention to detail.
