Key Responsibilities
As an Accounting Lecturer, your role will span across academic delivery, program management, scholarly research, and leadership. Your main duties will include:
- Academic Program Management: Manage taught programs, including day-to-day operational processes such as timetabling, assessments, and examination systems. Ensure that program design and delivery comply with the quality standards and regulations of the Polytechnic.
- Teaching & Learning Innovation: Teach a range of accounting courses and develop innovative teaching techniques that inspire and engage students, fostering a deep understanding of the subject matter.
- Research & Scholarship: Undertake and contribute to individual or collaborative research projects, produce high-quality scholarly outputs with demonstrable real-world impact, and participate in knowledge exchange activities.
- Student Mentorship: Monitor student progress and provide professional guidance and academic advice to personal tutors and students alike.
- Leadership & Resource Management: Provide academic leadership to program teams, develop work plans, participate in performance reviews, and contribute to the overall strategic management of the School/Faculty.
Requirements
To succeed in this role, candidates must meet the following criteria:
- Academic Background: Must possess a minimum of a BSc Degree in Accounting.
- Professional Experience: At least 5 years of relevant experience in accounting or academia. Prior experience in lecturing is a distinct advantage.
- Location Preference: Due to rising transportation costs, candidates residing around Ogba, Lagos, or neighboring vicinities are highly preferred.
