The Opportunity
As our Accountant, you will be the backbone of our financial operations. This role is not just about balancing books; it is about providing the strategic financial insights that drive business decisions. You will work closely with leadership to manage cash flow, optimize inventory-related financial controls, and ensure our continued growth in the Nigerian market.
Key Responsibilities
- Financial Management: Maintain accurate records in QuickBooks, manage reconciliations, and prepare monthly financial reports and budgets.
- Payroll and Commissions: Efficiently process staff salaries and ensure accurate computation and payment of consultant commissions.
- Client & Supplier Relations: Manage invoicing, monitor payment plans, and oversee supplier payments and statutory remittances.
- Strategic Support: Collaborate with the Managing Director to manage product procurement, inventory funding, and shipping logistics.
- Compliance: Ensure full adherence to internal controls, financial policies, and statutory regulations.
Who We Are Looking For
We are seeking candidates who possess a blend of technical proficiency and strong business acumen. To be successful in this role, you should have:
- Education: A Bachelor’s degree or HND in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. Professional certifications (ICAN, ACCA, ACA) are a significant advantage.
- Experience: A minimum of 2-3 years of relevant experience, preferably within a retail, trading, or distribution environment.
- Technical Skills: Proven proficiency in QuickBooks and Microsoft Excel is essential.
- Soft Skills: Exceptional analytical abilities, high attention to detail, and the integrity to handle sensitive financial information.
