The Role
As an Accountant, you will serve as a cornerstone of the financial department. You will be responsible for ensuring the accuracy of financial records, supporting management with critical reporting, and maintaining robust financial controls. Key Responsibilities
- Maintain accurate financial records and ensure comprehensive documentation of all daily transactions.
- Manage the end-to-end process of payments, invoices, receipts, and journal entries.
- Execute precise bank reconciliations on a daily, weekly, and monthly basis.
- Monitor and manage accounts payable and receivable effectively.
- Prepare monthly financial reports and management accounts to guide decision-making.
- Support the budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow monitoring processes.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to provide documentation for external audits.
- Manage the fixed asset register and ensure ledger accounts are reconciled and discrepancy-free.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- 2 to 4 years of relevant accounting experience, with preference given to candidates with backgrounds in real estate, construction, or property management.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and experience with accounting software such as QuickBooks, Sage, or Zoho Books.
- Solid understanding of financial reporting, bookkeeping, and reconciliation processes.
- Knowledge of Nigerian tax regulations and statutory compliance is considered a strong advantage.
