About the Role
As our Account Officer, you will be instrumental in supporting our day-to-day financial operations. Your expertise will directly contribute to our revenue assurance, statutory compliance, and overall fiscal health, with a specific focus on managing complex HMO-related transactions.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain accurate financial records and ensure proper posting of transactions into the accounting system.
- Prepare periodic financial reports, reconciliations, schedules, and management reports.
- Manage accounts payable and receivable, including vendor payments, invoicing, and debt recovery.
- Process and remit statutory deductions and taxes in compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Support internal and external audit activities by preparing and providing relevant documentation.
- Monitor, reconcile, and follow up on HMO claims, payments, capitations, and outstanding balances.
- Investigate and resolve discrepancies relating to patient billing, insurance claims, and HMO settlements.
- Liaise with HMOs and other stakeholders to ensure timely processing and recovery of claims.
- Prepare monthly reconciliation reports and ensure all financial transactions are accurately accounted for.
- Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and other finance-related activities as assigned by management.
Requirements & Qualifications
- HND or Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, Economics, or a related field.
- Minimum of 2 years of relevant experience in accounting, finance, reconciliations, or healthcare financial operations.
- Strong understanding of accounting principles, financial reporting, and reconciliation processes.
- Knowledge of HMO billing, claims processing, and healthcare revenue management is an added advantage.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including Pivot Tables and VLOOKUP.
- Experience using accounting software and financial management systems.
- Strong analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Must reside within Lagos Mainland, preferably Surulere or its environs.
