As an Account Officer, you will play a pivotal role in managing our financial relationships with referral partners, Health Maintenance Organizations (HMOs), and medical practitioners who help connect patients with our sight-restoring services.
Key Job Responsibilities
- Referral Partner Management: Maintain and update comprehensive records of referral doctors, clinics, and health maintenance organizations (HMOs).
- Commission/Incentive Processing: Accurately calculate, verify, and process payments, commissions, and referral fees to referring practitioners and institutions.
- Accounts Receivable & Invoicing: Manage invoices for referred patients, ensure precise billing, and diligently follow up on outstanding payments from partners.
- Database Maintenance: Keep accurate and up-to-date CRM databases of all referral sources, actively tracking patient volume generated from each source.
- Reconciliation & Reporting: Reconcile referral account transactions with the general ledger and prepare insightful weekly and monthly reports on referral trends and revenue.
- Stakeholder Liaison: Act as the primary point of contact for inquiries from referral partners regarding billing, patient status, or payment queries.
- Support Marketing Activities: Collaborate closely with the marketing department to track and measure the success of promotional events and campaigns targeted at referring physicians.
Key Requirements & Qualifications
- Education: A Bachelor's degree (BSc) or Higher National Diploma (HND) in Accounting.
- Experience: 2 to 3 years of proven experience as an Account Officer, with a strong preference for candidates with background experience in a healthcare or hospital setting.
- Analytical Skills: Strong analytical capabilities to interpret complex referral data and manage intricate financial records.
- Software Proficiency: Advanced proficiency in MS Excel (including VLOOKUP and Pivot Tables) and familiarity with accounting software such as SAP, Sage 50 (Peachtree), QuickBooks, or specialized Hospital Information Systems (HIS).
- Interpersonal Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills to effectively build and maintain professional relationships with external doctors and partners.
- Attention to Detail: A meticulous approach to recording data to guarantee absolute accuracy in invoicing and payments.
- Proactive Attitude: The ability to work independently with minimal supervision in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
