Ascentech Services Limited, a leading professional services firm specializing in recruitment and selection, is currently seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Account Officer to manage and optimize day-to-day financial operations at an established manufacturing plant in Ota, Ogun State.

Role Overview
Located at the plant in Ota, the Account Officer will oversee a broad range of accounting tasks. From managing accounts receivable and payable to reconciling complex general ledgers and coordinating closing activities, this position requires someone who possesses a sharp eye for accuracy and a deep understanding of corporate accounting procedures.
Key Responsibilities
The successful candidate will be responsible for the following core duties:
- Reconciliation & Ledger Management: Perform regular debtors and creditors reconciliations to keep the financial ledger current and accurate. Conduct rigorous daily and monthly bank reconciliations.
- Receivables & Payables Control: Actively follow up on outstanding receivables, manage aging reports for management review, and resolve any outstanding vendor billing or payment discrepancies.
- General Ledger Maintenance: Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts, ensuring precise tracking of prepayments, accruals, and fixed assets.
- Reporting & Financial Closing: Support both month-end and year-end closing processes. Prepare comprehensive weekly and monthly Management Information System (MIS) reports.
- Compliance & Audit Support: Maintain strict adherence to internal controls, policies, and accounting procedures. Assist external and internal auditors by compiling and organizing required financial documentation.
- Invoicing & Cost Monitoring: Process incoming invoices promptly and support overall transaction management and cost-efficiency monitoring at the plant level.
Required Qualifications & Experience
To succeed in this role, candidates must meet the following criteria:
- Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a closely related discipline.
- Experience: A minimum of 3 to 5 years of hands-on experience in an accounting or financial officer role. Experience in a manufacturing environment is highly advantageous.
- Professional Certifications: ICAN certification (or an ongoing professional accounting qualification) is preferred.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in industry-standard accounting software/ERP systems (such as SAP, QuickBooks, or similar) alongside advanced command of Microsoft Excel.
