The Opportunity: Regional Sales Manager
This critical role is designed for a visionary leader who can manage field sales operations across a designated geographic region. You will be instrumental in directing the activities of third-party sales and merchandising providers, ensuring the delivery of ambitious net sales, distribution, volume growth, forward share, and market share targets. Key Responsibilities
As Regional Sales Manager, your core responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
- Strategic Planning & Quota Management: Develop and implement regional sales plans and quotas that align seamlessly with overall business objectives.
- Operational Support: Provide crucial day-to-day support to Store Managers, ensuring smooth and efficient store operations.
- Performance Evaluation: Rigorously evaluate both store and individual performances, identifying areas for improvement and celebrating successes.
- Reporting & Analysis: Prepare comprehensive reports on regional sales results, providing critical insights to senior-level officers.
- Sales Execution & Review: Plan and execute sales initiatives, regularly reviewing sales data, and creating detailed reports.
- Feedback & Insights: Conduct tracking meetings to provide constructive feedback and actionable sales insights to your teams.
- Financial Forecasting: Accurately forecast quarterly and annual profits, contributing to strategic financial planning.
- Talent Acquisition & Development: Identify hiring needs, select, and train new salespeople, fostering a high-performing sales culture.
- Budget Management: Prepare and review the annual budget for your area of responsibility, ensuring fiscal prudence.
- Market Trend Analysis: Analyze regional market trends to discover and capitalize on new opportunities for growth.
- Problem Solving: Proactively address potential problems and suggest prompt, effective solutions.
- Strategic Contribution: Participate in key decisions related to expansion or acquisition initiatives.
- Product & Innovation: Suggest new products and innovative sales techniques to continuously increase customer satisfaction.
- Relationship Building: Cultivate strong relationships with key contacts, including Operations and store managers, to ensure collaborative success.
Who We're Looking For (Requirements)
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced individual who embodies leadership and possesses a deep understanding of sales dynamics. To be successful in this role, you should possess:
- Educational Background: An HND / BSc in business management, marketing, or a related field, with relevant certifications. A postgraduate qualification is a significant plus.
- Extensive Sales Experience: Eight or more years of progressive sales experience, with sector-specific sales experience being preferred.
- Managerial Acumen: Proven managerial experience in a related field, demonstrating your ability to lead and inspire teams.
- Quota Achievement: A strong, proven track record of consistently meeting or exceeding sales quotas.
- Exceptional Leadership: Excellent team leadership skills, with the ability to motivate, guide, and develop sales professionals.
- Communication Prowess: Highly effective communication skills, both written and verbal, for engaging with diverse stakeholders.
