This is a vital role designed to bridge the gap between innovative forage technology and the practical needs of livestock farmers and pastoralists.

The Role

As the Regional Forage Extension Manager, you will be the driving force behind our forage development initiatives within your assigned region. You will work under the guidance of the Forage Manager to implement regional work plans, supervise field personnel, and act as a key liaison to farming communities. Your work will directly contribute to improving feed availability, enhancing animal productivity, and promoting sustainable livestock production across the region.

Core Responsibilities

Strategic Implementation: Execute forage development programs and monitor progress against national objectives.
Technical Advisory: Provide expert guidance on forage establishment, harvesting, conservation, and year-round feed budgeting.
Community Empowerment: Establish demonstration plots, organize farmer field days, and build lasting partnerships with cooperatives and local agricultural stakeholders.
Team Leadership: Mentor and supervise Forage Extension Officers, ensuring high performance and adherence to company quality standards.
Data-Driven Growth: Track key metrics—including farmer adoption rates and forage acreage—to provide actionable insights through regular reporting.

Qualifications & Experience

We are looking for candidates who possess a blend of technical expertise and strong interpersonal skills:

Education: Bachelor’s Degree or HND in Agronomy, Crop Science, Pasture and Range Management, Animal Science, or a related field. Postgraduate qualifications are considered a significant advantage.
Experience: A minimum of 5–7 years of relevant experience in forage production, pasture management, or rural agricultural development, with at least 2 years in a supervisory capacity.
Technical Mastery: Knowledge of tropical forage species, hay/silage production, and climate-smart agricultural practices.
Soft Skills: Exceptional communication, leadership, and cultural sensitivity to effectively engage with diverse pastoralist and farming communities.
