The Role
As a Field Worker III, you will be integral to our nursery operations, ensuring the high-quality propagation of plantlets and the success of our R4D projects. You will be hands-on in the nursery, applying your expertise in substrate preparation, potting, and general plant maintenance to support our mission of enhancing crop quality and productivity.
Key Responsibilities
- Execute nursery propagation tasks including corm splitting, extraction, watering, and plantlet handling.
- Maintain precise records and ensure proper labeling and traceability for propagation experiments.
- Adhere strictly to laboratory and screenhouse standard operating procedures (SOPs) and safety protocols.
- Keep nursery facilities and tools clean and organized to ensure a productive work environment.
Requirements and Competencies
We are looking for a candidate who possesses a solid foundation in agricultural fieldwork. To qualify, you must have:
- An O’ Level qualification.
- At least three (3) years of experience in a similar role within a well-structured organization.
- Strong technical knowledge of nursery propagation, plant handling, and substrate management.
- Specific experience in banana or vegetative propagated crop production is highly desirable.
- A detail-oriented mindset with the ability to work independently and effectively within a team.
