Overview

ON.energy is rapidly setting new standards for large load interconnection. Our patented AI UPS™ technology offers a medium-voltage UPS solution unlike any other; it acts as an intelligent firewall, protecting data centers from grid disturbances and, crucially, shielding the grid from the demands of the data center. With multiple gigawatts of capacity currently under development, we are enabling the next generation of grid-safe data centers worldwide. This Vice President of Product Management role is absolutely central to our mission. You will own the entire product roadmap for our cutting-edge medium-voltage UPS systems, serving the rapidly evolving data center power market. This position offers a unique chance to define product direction, translate complex market needs into clear, actionable requirements, and build the strategic business case that drives our product development priorities. This is a fully remote, worldwide opportunity.

Key Responsibilities

Your leadership will directly impact our success, encompassing a range of critical responsibilities. These include:

Strategic Product Vision: Develop and champion a compelling product vision and strategy for our medium-voltage UPS systems, ensuring alignment with ON.energy's overall business objectives and market leadership.
Roadmap Ownership: Lead the creation and ongoing management of a clear, well-supported product roadmap for the next 12 to 24 months. This involves expertly balancing customer value, competitive differentiation, technical feasibility, regulatory and certification requirements, delivery timing, and crucial financial outcomes.
Market & Customer Insight: Conduct thorough market analysis, gather customer insights, and monitor competitive landscapes to identify new opportunities and inform product decisions. Translate these insights into concrete product requirements and specifications.
Business Case Development: Establish robust business cases and a prioritization framework for new product initiatives, ensuring resources are allocated effectively to maximize impact and ROI.
Cross-Functional Leadership: Collaborate closely with the SVP of Engineering, CTO, and other senior leaders across engineering, sales, marketing, and operations. You will ensure seamless product development from concept to launch and beyond.
Mentorship & Team Building: Potentially build and mentor a high-performing product management team, fostering a culture of innovation, accountability, and continuous improvement.

Requirements

To thrive in this challenging yet rewarding role, you will bring a compelling blend of experience and expertise. We are looking for individuals with:

Extensive Product Leadership: Demonstrated success in a senior product management role, preferably as a VP or Director, within the energy, power electronics, critical infrastructure, or data center technology sectors.
Technical Acumen: A strong understanding of medium-voltage power systems, UPS technology, grid interconnection, and relevant industry standards. Experience with AI-driven solutions is a significant plus.
Strategic Thinker: Proven ability to develop and execute comprehensive product strategies that drive growth and market differentiation.
Exceptional Communication: Superior verbal and written communication skills, capable of articulating complex technical concepts to diverse audiences, from engineers to executive leadership and customers.
Execution Focus: A track record of translating vision into tangible products, managing the entire product lifecycle from ideation through launch and iteration.
Collaborative Spirit: Ability to build strong relationships and influence stakeholders across an organization, fostering a collaborative and productive work environment.
Education: A Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical field. An MBA or equivalent business experience is highly desirable.
