Oddball is on a mission to improve the daily lives of millions by delivering quality software to the federal sector. We are searching for an exceptional VP of Engineering to spearhead and significantly scale our engineering practice across our diverse federal digital modernization portfolio. We need someone who possesses a proven track record from commercial, product-focused organizations, ready to adapt those best practices to the unique realities of federal delivery. Key Responsibilities

You'll be the architect of our engineering excellence, setting and championing technical standards, along with best practices, across a vast team of over 100 engineers spanning multiple federal programs.
This includes guiding how our teams strategically adopt and build innovative solutions using agentic AI tools.
You will shape our engineering talent, identifying and nurturing top performers, developing promising individuals, and ensuring we maintain an exceptionally high standard throughout the organization.
Collaborate closely with Program Managers, Tech Leads, and fellow VPs to guarantee that all programs deliver solutions that are not only high quality but also technically robust and sound.
Expect to dive into technical challenges when needed, providing hands-on guidance and solving complex problems that require your seasoned expertise.

Requirements

Extensive senior engineering leadership experience, ideally scaling and managing teams of 100+ engineers.
Demonstrated success in bringing commercial, product-centric engineering practices to complex environments, with a strong understanding of federal delivery nuances.
Deep technical acumen, including experience with modern software development methodologies and emerging technologies like agentic AI.
Proven ability to attract, develop, and retain exceptional engineering talent.
Outstanding communication skills, enabling you to articulate technical vision and strategy across all levels of an organization.
