Velera stands as the nation's premier payments credit union service organization (CUSO), a robust integrated fintech solutions provider. We proudly serve over 4,000 financial institutions across North America, moving swiftly to ensure our clients stay ahead in a rapidly evolving financial landscape. As our new VP, Insights, you will create, manage, and inspire a team of highly skilled professionals. This team will deliver critical expertise and support to our Growth, Product, and Marketing teams, as well as our Executive Leadership. Your focus areas will encompass payments research, client sentiment analysis, engagement research, strategic enhancement planning, developing RFPs and due diligence, engaging with industry analysts, and providing ongoing industry, market, and competitive analysis. You'll gain significant customer visibility, including interactions with CEO-level clients, and you'll regularly engage strategically with Growth teams and their leaders, our external business partners, and various Service divisions.

Key Responsibilities

Lead the design and execution of comprehensive payments research initiatives to identify emerging trends and opportunities.
Establish and manage a robust framework for gathering client sentiment and engagement data, translating insights into actionable recommendations.
Direct the development of enhancement plans based on deep market understanding and client feedback.
Oversee the creation of compelling RFP responses and thorough due diligence processes for strategic partnerships and product developments.
Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with key industry analysts, positioning Velera as a thought leader.
Conduct continuous industry, market, and competitive analysis to inform strategic decision-making across the organization.
Recruit, mentor, and develop a high-performing team of insights professionals, fostering a culture of excellence and continuous learning.
Present complex insights and recommendations clearly and persuasively to executive leadership and client stakeholders.
Collaborate closely with Growth, Product, and Marketing teams to integrate insights into their strategies and product roadmaps.
Act as a strategic advisor to leadership, offering expert perspectives on market dynamics and future growth vectors.

Requirements

A minimum of 10 years of progressive experience in market research, business intelligence, or strategic insights within the financial services or fintech industry.
At least 5 years of experience leading and managing high-performing teams, with a proven ability to motivate and develop talent.
Deep expertise in the payments landscape, including current trends, technologies, and competitive dynamics.
Exceptional analytical skills, capable of synthesizing complex data into clear, actionable insights and strategic recommendations.
Strong communication and presentation abilities, with experience engaging C-level executives and external partners.
Demonstrated experience in managing industry analyst relations and developing compelling thought leadership.
Proven track record in developing and implementing research methodologies, including qualitative and quantitative approaches.
Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, Economics, or a related field. An MBA or advanced degree is highly preferred.
Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment, managing multiple priorities and stakeholders effectively.
