Job Objective
As a Truck Auto Mechanic at Mikano, your primary responsibility will be constructing, maintaining, and repairing a wide range of machinery and heavy-duty vehicles. You will play a vital role in ensuring fleet reliability, monitoring inventory, performing detailed vehicle inspections, and assembling machinery to support our extensive operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Diagnostics and Repair: Thoroughly assess vehicles and machinery to accurately diagnose and resolve electrical and mechanical issues.
- Client Communication: Liaise professionally with internal and external clients to understand their automotive requirements and communicate vehicular defects clearly.
- Routine Maintenance: Conduct regular, preventative maintenance inspections on vehicles and proactively report potential faults.
- Documentation: Maintain an accurate and up-to-date log of all maintenance, diagnostics, and repair work performed.
- Tool & Equipment Management: Clean and maintain workshop garage equipment to ensure a safe, organized, and hazard-free working environment.
- Operational Safety: Properly store and organize tools to avoid damaging steel-fabricated materials, and ensure all heavy machinery is safely powered off before closing daily operations.
Required Qualifications & Experience
To succeed in this role, candidates must possess a blend of formal technical training and hands-on mechanical expertise:
- Educational Background: Trade Test certificate, OND, HND, B.Engineering, or a degree in a related technical field.
- Technical Knowledge: Vast and demonstrable knowledge in the Electrical, Mechanical, and General Engineering fields.
- Industry Experience: At least 3 years of practical experience in a similar automotive or manufacturing industry.
- Core Competency: Strong expertise in troubleshooting, maintaining, and repairing engines (particularly heavy-duty and truck engines).
