About the Role
As the Plant Head, you will assume overall management responsibility for day-to-day plant operations, ensuring that manufacturing is conducted safely, efficiently, and cost-effectively. You will oversee all core plant functions—including production, processing, quality, engineering, projects, and Quality, Environment, Health, and Safety (QEHS)—while strictly adhering to food safety, regulatory, and environmental standards. Driving operational excellence and workforce productivity will be central to your daily mission.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage daily plant operations across production, processing, quality, engineering, projects, and QEHS to guarantee uninterrupted and compliant functionality.
- Ensure stringent adherence to quality systems and food safety standards via regular shop floor audits, reviews, and prompt corrective actions.
- Optimize production costs by vigilantly monitoring Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE), wastages, conversion costs, and variances while championing root cause analysis.
- Spearhead QEHS initiatives in close partnership with the Central Quality team to build sustainable operational systems.
- Drive engineering excellence through robust preventive maintenance, cost-controlled repairs, and the timely execution of projects.
- Manage proactive industrial relations, leading union discussions, upholding strict industrial discipline, and boosting labor productivity.
- Prepare, monitor, and control comprehensive plant budgets covering manpower, energy, materials, maintenance, and overheads.
Experience & Qualifications
- A Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering from a reputable academic institution.
- 15 to 20 years of progressive experience in plant management and manufacturing operations.
- Strong, demonstrable exposure to project execution and the management of large-scale plant operations.
- Mandatory prior experience working within a leading FMCG organization.
- Comprehensive knowledge of compliance, safety, and quality regulatory systems.
