Role Overview

This is a fully remote worldwide position where you will protect global enterprise clients from sophisticated modern web threats. You will join our Customer Security Operations Centre, monitoring real time internet traffic across our vast edge cloud platform. From mitigating large scale distributed denial of service floods to blocking web application attacks and credential stuffing bots, your work directly shields millions of daily end users. Because our enterprise client base spans the globe, having Japanese language skills is a massive bonus that helps us deliver seamless, strategic support across critical international markets.

Key Responsibilities

In this position, day to day operations involve rapid threat identification and hands on defense tactics.

Monitor global internet traffic continuously across Fastly edge cloud infrastructure to spot anomalies.
Analyze and mitigate Web Application Firewall alerts, bot traffic surges, and multi vector distributed denial of service attacks.
Partner with enterprise customers as a trusted security advisor during high severity incidents.
Investigate emerging threat vectors and create actionable detection rules to stop novel exploitation attempts.
Collaborate with global internal security teams to build smarter automations and operational improvements.
Provide clear, empathetic incident communication and technical guidance to customer stakeholders, including Japanese speaking clients when relevant.

Requirements

We are searching for candidates with solid analytical instincts and a deep curiosity about how network traffic flows.

Strong foundational knowledge of web application security, networking protocols, HTTP, DNS, and modern attack vectors.
Hands on experience investigating security events, analyzing raw logs, and diagnosing malicious patterns.
Familiarity with technologies such as WAF engines, bot management platforms, or SIEM tools.
Professional Japanese language skills, both written and spoken, are highly desirable to support our expanding customer partnerships in Japan.
Excellent problem solving skills under pressure when handling fast moving production incidents.
Self motivated approach to remote collaboration across varied time zones and international teams.
