Opportunity: Technical Superintendent at Boskalis (Smit Lamnalco)

The Role

As a Technical Superintendent, you will be responsible for the day-to-day Maintenance and Repair (M&R) activities of assigned vessels. Your primary goal is to ensure the technical reliability of the fleet while optimizing utilization within strict timeframes and budget constraints.

Key Responsibilities

Maintenance Management: Coordinate and execute preventive maintenance activities to minimize downtime and off-hire periods.
Leadership: Supervise, coach, and instruct Chief Engineers to ensure technical operations meet company standards.
Operational Oversight: Manage repairs, supervise subcontractors, and oversee all associated costs including dockings and modifications.
Safety and Compliance: Champion Safety, Health, Environmental, and Quality (SHEQ) standards and serve as the primary interface for regulatory bodies, including Classification Societies and Flag States.

Requirements

To succeed in this role, you should possess:

Higher or Secondary vocational education in Mechanical Engineering, Naval Architecture, or a related field.
A minimum of 7 years of verifiable experience as a Technical Superintendent, Port Engineer, or Technical Manager.
Prior experience in a similar maritime or offshore support environment is essential.
Former experience as a Chief Engineer on offshore support vessels is highly preferred.
Fluency in English, both written and spoken.
