Overview

We are searching for a talented Technical Revenue Accounting and Policy Manager to become an integral part of Oura's revenue and general accounting team. This critical role offers a unique opportunity to directly shape how Oura recognizes revenue as our business scales across international markets. You will be instrumental in maintaining and advancing our ASC 606 framework, ensuring consistent and accurate financial reporting. Your responsibilities will involve scrutinizing strategic and non-standard contracts, meticulously documenting accounting conclusions, and crafting clear, well-reasoned technical memos. Beyond policy, you will also contribute to key close-related activities, upholding the accuracy and timeliness of our revenue results. Key Responsibilities

Take ownership of Oura's revenue accounting policies, ensuring they are consistently applied and regularly updated to reflect business changes and evolving accounting standards.
Review and analyze complex strategic and non-standard customer contracts, identifying key accounting considerations and guiding proper revenue recognition treatment.
Prepare comprehensive and well-supported accounting conclusions and technical memos for complex revenue arrangements, articulating your rationale clearly and concisely.
Provide expert guidance on ASC 606 revenue recognition matters to cross-functional teams, including Sales, Legal, and Product, supporting new initiatives and product launches.
Actively participate in month-end and quarter-end close processes, contributing to the accurate and timely reporting of revenue figures.
Collaborate closely with the external audit team, providing necessary documentation and explanations related to revenue recognition practices.
Identify opportunities for process improvements within the revenue accounting cycle, driving efficiency and enhancing controls.

Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
5+ years of progressive experience in technical accounting roles, with a strong emphasis on revenue recognition (ASC 606).
Certified Public Accountant (CPA) license is preferred.
Demonstrated ability to research, interpret, and apply complex accounting guidance to real-world business transactions.
Proven experience reviewing and analyzing intricate customer contracts and related documentation.
Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex accounting issues to both finance and non-finance stakeholders.
Experience in a fast-paced, high-growth environment, ideally within the consumer electronics, subscription, or software industries.
Proficiency with large ERP systems and advanced Excel skills.
A self-starter with a proactive approach, capable of managing multiple priorities in a dynamic setting.
