Our Android application stands as the most frequently used text-to-speech app on the Play Store. This tremendous growth in our user base now calls for an elevated approach to how we develop and scale. We are actively searching for an exceptional Team Lead to take ownership of our core product initiatives, driving both innovation and the overall efficiency of our Android team.

Key Responsibilities

Lead the end-to-end development of critical new features for Speechify's core Android application, from concept to deployment.
Define and implement technical strategy, architecture, and best practices for the Android platform, ensuring scalability, performance, and maintainability.
Mentor and guide a team of talented Android engineers, fostering a culture of technical excellence, continuous learning, and innovation.
Conduct regular code reviews, provide constructive feedback, and uphold high standards of code quality and software design.
Collaborate closely with product managers, designers, and other engineering teams to translate product requirements into technical solutions.
Drive improvements in development processes, tools, and methodologies to enhance team productivity and release cadence.
Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues, ensuring a smooth and reliable user experience for millions of users.

Requirements

Extensive professional experience developing robust Android applications, including significant experience in a leadership or senior role.
Proven ability to lead and mentor engineering teams, fostering growth and delivering high-quality software.
Deep expertise in Android SDK, architecture components, UI/UX best practices, and modern Android development tools.
Proficiency in Kotlin, with a strong understanding of Java.
Demonstrated success in shipping and maintaining high-impact applications on the Google Play Store.
Experience working in a fully distributed or remote team environment is a plus, showcasing strong independent work and communication skills.
Excellent problem-solving abilities, attention to detail, and a passion for creating exceptional user experiences.
Strong communication and collaboration skills, capable of effectively interacting with technical and non-technical stakeholders across different time zones.
