AfriLabs, the continent’s leading network of 174 innovation centers across 45 countries, is seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented State Project Officer to lead our mission in Ogun State. As an organization dedicated to empowering entrepreneurs and fostering homegrown solutions, this role is pivotal in bridging the gap between innovation ecosystems and institutional excellence.
The Role
As our State Project Officer, you will serve as the primary liaison for the 'Aggregator' project at the state level. You will be responsible for the seamless planning, implementation, and monitoring of project activities, ensuring that our objectives in capacity building and innovation are met with precision and excellence.
Key Responsibilities
- Strategic Coordination: Develop implementation workplans and manage daily operations at assigned Centres of Excellence (CoE).
- Stakeholder Engagement: Build robust partnerships with university/polytechnic management, government agencies (NBTE, NUC), and local innovation stakeholders.
- Monitoring and Evaluation: Track KPIs, conduct site audits, and ensure compliance with project standards to maintain the integrity of our programs.
- Data Stewardship: Manage the collection and validation of program data to ensure accurate reporting for our MEL team.
- Operational Excellence: Oversee logistics for training sessions, workshops, and innovation challenges.
- Visibility and Outreach: Promote program awareness and ensure inclusive participation across student and local communities.
Who You Are
We are looking for a professional who thrives in field-based environments and possesses the ability to manage multiple stakeholders with ease. The ideal candidate will have:
- A Bachelor’s degree in Social Sciences, Business Administration, Development Studies, or a related field.
- 2–5 years of professional experience in project coordination or development work.
- A proactive approach to problem-solving and excellent reporting skills.
- Strong organizational abilities with proficiency in Microsoft Office tools.
- Prior experience with donor-funded projects or academic institutions is highly desirable.
