Our InfoSec and IT teams are seeking a seasoned Staff Systems Engineer. You will be instrumental in bridging infrastructure, security, and automation, acting as a technical leader across both teams. This hands-on, high-impact role means you will be pioneering the evolution of our systems, ensuring security and efficiency for our entire global team of Paddlers in both our Enterprise IT and Product environments.

Key Responsibilities

Provide technical leadership and strategic direction for system architecture and security initiatives across InfoSec and IT.
Design, implement, and maintain highly available, scalable, and secure systems for both Enterprise IT operations and our core product infrastructure.
Drive automation efforts to streamline system provisioning, configuration, and monitoring.
Collaborate closely with InfoSec to embed security best practices into every stage of the system lifecycle.
Lead incident response for critical system issues, performing root cause analysis and implementing preventative measures.
Mentor junior engineers, fostering a culture of technical excellence and continuous improvement.
Evaluate and introduce new technologies that enhance system resilience, efficiency, and security.

Requirements

Extensive experience in systems engineering roles, ideally with a focus on security and automation.
Proven track record of leading complex technical projects and driving innovation.
Deep understanding of cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP) and on-premise infrastructure.
Proficiency in scripting and automation languages (e.g., Python, Go, PowerShell, Bash).
Strong expertise in identity and access management (IAM), network security, and endpoint protection.
Familiarity with compliance frameworks (e.g., ISO 27001, SOC 2, GDPR) is a plus.
Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot complex system issues effectively.
Exceptional communication and collaboration skills, capable of working with diverse global teams.
