About the Role

As a Staff Machine Learning Engineer on our Ads Foundational Representations team, you will build the core embeddings and signals that help us truly understand our users and content. We are looking for someone who loves cracking tough technical problems and wants to make ad relevance feel less like guesswork and more like magic using state of the art machine learning.

Overview

You will join a heavy machine learning and data focused group that builds the foundational representations of Reddit entities like ads, posts, and users. Your work will capture the deep contextual, behavioral, and semantic information needed to power our entire advertising ecosystem. By leveraging our vast ocean of daily updated, highly authentic organic content, you will help highlight what makes advertising on Reddit completely unique. Best of all, this is a fully remote role with the flexibility to work from anywhere in the UK or the Netherlands.

Key Responsibilities

Design, train, and scale advanced machine learning models and deep embeddings that capture rich user interests and content semantics.
Partner closely with product and cross-functional teams to integrate foundational representations into core ad targeting and ranking systems.
Drive the technical roadmap for our ads foundational representations infrastructure from initial prototyping to large scale production.
Optimize model performance, latency, and throughput to handle massive daily traffic efficiently.
Mentor fellow engineers and champion best practices in machine learning engineering across the organization.

Requirements

Extensive professional experience building and deploying large scale machine learning models in production environments.
Strong background in representation learning, deep learning, NLP, or recommender systems.
Proficiency in Python and modern ML frameworks such as PyTorch or TensorFlow.
Solid understanding of distributed data processing tools like Spark or Hadoop.
Ability to thrive in a flexible, remote first work environment spanning the UK or the Netherlands.
