Key Responsibilities

Architect and Design: Lead the design and implementation of highly scalable, secure, and performant database solutions for our cutting-edge platform.
Performance Optimization: Continuously monitor, analyze, and optimize database performance to ensure maximum efficiency and responsiveness.
Reliability and Resilience: Implement robust backup, recovery, and disaster recovery strategies, ensuring high availability and data integrity for critical systems.
Security Best Practices: Enforce and audit database security protocols, protecting sensitive information and adhering to compliance standards across all environments.
Automation and Tooling: Develop and deploy automation scripts and tools to streamline database operations, deployments, and maintenance tasks within a collaborative DevOps framework.
Collaboration and Mentorship: Work closely with engineering, DevOps, and product teams, providing expert guidance and mentoring junior DBAs when appropriate.
Troubleshooting and Support: Provide expert support for complex database issues, resolving incidents swiftly and effectively to maintain operational excellence.

Requirements

Extensive experience as a Staff DBA or a similar senior database role, demonstrating a deep understanding of database management and architecture.
Proven expertise with relational databases such as PostgreSQL, MySQL, or SQL Server.
Familiarity with NoSQL databases, for instance MongoDB, Cassandra, or Elasticsearch, is highly advantageous for this role.
Strong background in cloud database services, particularly AWS RDS, Azure SQL Database, or Google Cloud SQL.
Proficiency in scripting languages like Python or Bash for automation initiatives.
Solid understanding of DevOps principles and experience integrating database operations into CI/CD pipelines.
Exceptional problem-solving abilities and a proactive approach to identifying and resolving complex database challenges effectively.
